A TurfBot® technician will visit your property to install the perimeter wiring and program your robot to mow according to your preferred schedule. We will continue to visit your lawn to perform regular trimming and to check on the mower.
You can, but robotic mowers are expensive, ranging in cost from $2,000 to $4,000+. You would also be responsible for installation (which can get tricky as you tunnel under your existing landscape). TurfBot® offers an all-inclusive service that gives you the most affordable, secure, and hassle-free way to enjoy robotic mowing.
Yes! TurfBot® robotic mowers are exceptionally safe for children and pets (and adults, too!). The robot's sophisticated sensors force it to stop and turn around any time it bumps into an object or person. There is a high-quality barrier in place that prevents fingers and toes from reaching the blades while the robot is mowing. It also takes less than a second for the mower blades to stop turning when the robot is lifted off the ground.
Driveways and sidewalks are no challenge for our mowers. We will do a full testing of all areas during installation to make absolute certain that the mower is capable of handling your terrain..
In small amounts, absolutely! However, if too much builds up on the wheels or around the blades, the mower may lose traction, so we ask pet owners to regularly clear their yard (every few days).
Because the mower is regularly cutting your lawn, it cuts just a small bit of the grass blade each time. These bits of grass easily fall back down to the soil where they decompose and provide fertilizer-like nutrients to the roots. This makes for a much greener and healthier lawn.
A base station will be set up at your home. Your TurfBot® technician handles all of the programming and maintenance, so you'll never have to lift a finger. The robot will mow on its programmed schedule and then return to its base for charging.
All of our pricing is based on square footage. You will be charged an affordable weekly mowing fee but can essentially have the mower cut your lawn as often as you'd like. Contact us for your free quote!
Our mowers can handle just about any yard size. A single standard robot will typically mow 3/4 of an acre (about 1/2 an acre of grass). For larger properties, we use two or more robots to cover the entire property.
Hills up to a 30% slope are no problem for our robots.
Yes, our robotic mowing services are available for commercial properties.
During the off season, customers have the option of pausing their service until the grass starts growing again. You only pay for the months in which the robot is active!
Absolutely. We can program the mower to operate during specific times only (our robots are quiet enough that they can even be set to run at night). During installation, we will ask you about irrigation systems and pets to ensure a schedule is selected that fits your needs and lifestyle.
Exact timing depends on the size of the yard, but our robotic mowers can work day or night and you do not need to be home.
Not at all. In fact, our mowers are very efficient at mulching fallen foliage, and normal leaf coverage will not affect regular cutting. However, during the fall season it may be necessary to request a seasonal clean-up to tackle the influx of debris on the lawn.

Each and every lawn is different. During installation, your TurfBot® technician will program the robot around your lawn's needs/growing habits as well as your own lifestyle needs (avoiding periods of high foot traffic and times when your irrigation system may be in use). Rest assured that your lawn will always have that freshly-mowed look!
Of course! This is a manual setting on the mower itself and can be adjusted from about 1.5 - 3 inches in height.
Our robots have a rain sensor that delays the start time if they sense rain or sprinklers operating, but they are fully capable of operating in the rain.
Because each unit features a GPS tracking device, TurfBot® is notified immediately should the mower ever leave your property. Our mowers are not valuable to anyone other than our customers, as they lose all functionality when removed from their designated property. All of our robotic mowers are fully insured against theft.
Our robotic mowers use 11 kWh per month, so at an average of $0.13/kWh, it would cost approximately $1.43 per month or $8.58 for a 6-month mowing season.
